Problem with Check In-Out Installation
« on: October 16, 2008, 03:28:20 pm »
 >:( To be honest with you, your manuals are confusing and they're not clear what needs to be done in particular order.  I spent hours trying to install and configure your application and so far no luck there.
We have IntelliTrack Check In-Out v5.2, Bartender 7.72, Check In-Out RF 5.0, and three Symbol MC3090-G handheld scanners.

Followings are what I've done:

1. Chose network setup option so installed SQL Server, database, IIS on separate Windows 2003 Server.
2. Installed Workstation application, Bar Tender, and Seagull on one PC.
3. Create IIS dependencies on the server.
4. Set up DMS Web Service Extension on the server.
5. Gave an user Admin rights on the PC so user can run Check In-Out program.
6. Installed Microsoft ActiveSync 4.2 on the PC.
7. Setup Sync URL under DMS Batch Synchronization Utility window. Since IIS is running on separate server, I changed link to http://{server name}/IntelliTrack/sscesa20.dll.
8. Installed Check In-Out RF 5.0 on the PC.
9. Installed Wavelink TelnetCE for Symbol M3000 series handheld device.
10. Configured Telnet and other settings on the PC according to instruction.
11. Configured Telnet on Handheld device.
12. Device never connected to RF Server. (did I miss any step?)
13. Connected device's cradle to the PC using USB cable.
14. Installed handheld device and was able to sync the device with the PC.
15. While device is IN the cradle, it appeared connected but kept showing blank screen with blinking # sign.
16. As soon as I tried to type something, it displayed "Out of Range. Trying to reassociate..." and never moved.
17. I decided to install CE Batch Portable Application on the device so went to DMS Batch Synchronization Utility window and clicked "Installation" tab.
18. Chose "CIO_5_2_00_SymbolMC3000WINCE" from the list and clicked "Install".
19. During installation, device displayed "Application is not compatible with current operating system, therefore, the application may not work. Continue installation?" error message.

Now I'm stuck and don't know what to do.  Please help me with DETAILED instruction.  Thank you.

For the RF portable application issue: When you configured wavelink on the desktop and set the emulation parameters and the macro key mappings did you then select the config only button to send that configuration to the portable? On the batch portable installation on the MC3000 you will receive that initial error "Application is not compatible with current operating system, therefore, the application may not work. Continue installation?". Select OK and the installation will continue. Hope this helps!
