Purging customer IDs

Good afternoon, it has been awhile since I have had a question to ask.


We are trying to purge all customer IDs and rebuild. I keep getting a message that there are still items checked out to customers------I checked through all the sites and there is nothing checked out. Any ideas to get around this? Deleting customers one-by one is not an option.
