Sync with PPT8800

Running ISRP in demo mode for testing.  Trying to sync with a Symbol PPT8800. Open the Batch Portable app, click on the CE Portable button and then click on Send Data.  Get an error on the 8800 at the "Downloading SystemParameter..."  Looked in the error log on the 8800 and found the following:
7/5/2005 7:39:00 AM: SyncPCToHH-
 Error Code: 80072EE7

Sounds as if the IIS IUSER  is not added  or allowed access to your SQL database. Is your database local to the PC that is running IIS?  If not, you are looking at configuring an alternate IIS user configuration. There are some settings required to insure your IIS logon from the IIS PC, can sucessfully access your SQL server. Consider the options in the ISRP CE client guide and see if any of them match what you are running. Check out chapter 1 Here's a link to get it from ITI's site. : ftp://ftp.intellitrack.net/PUBLIC/Manuals/CEClient.pdf

Also some additional basic settings that should not be overlooked.  Can you see the WMS virtual directory(ISRP) by opening a browser on the PC running IIS and typing http://pcnameorIPhere/WMS/sscesa20.dll   You should see the SQL CE message displayed.  Repeat the same process on your handheld device while it is connected through Activesync using the Async setting that allows RAS. (insure your Iexplorer is set to use Work settings and can browse the internet) Then try to access the same IIS virtual directory. http://pcnameorIPhere/WMS/sscesa20.dll.  Assuming all those basic settings are intact then the only piece is the accessibilty of the IIS user to the SQL database.

I've found software firewalls can also cause this error.
