Add user defined field to handheld

Does anyone have experience adding a user-defined field to a barcoding device? I have been told it will require a custom modification that Intellitrack has to do, but we have developers on staff that could help if we knew were to start. We are using the MC70 Motorola wireless device.

We do not supply the source code for the hand held application.  If you need access to additional fields on your hand held device IntelliTrack must provide this modification.
