Package Track Synchronization Error
« on: March 15, 2007, 09:27:29 am »
I have a package Track installation on a Windows XP PC and I am using Symbol PPT8800 with Windows Pocket PC 2003. I am also using Microsoft ActiveSync 3.7.

I quite frequently get a Microsoft Jet error while trying to synchronize my portable device. The error states that a table 'Packages' is missing from the database. The only way around this error that I have found is to remove the database from the portable and to get the application to re-create the database on the portable.

This is not really feasable to keep doing this. Is anyone else having the same problem or has anyone found a resolution?

Many Thanks to any replies in advance.

Hello,

There is a possibility that the install/handheld database was corrupted during the handheld set-up. One possible solution is to perform a coldboot on the handheld, then a reinstall of the Package Track handheld application followed by sending your down to the handheld.

Thanks!

Hi Brad,

I have re-installed Package Track several times on the units and after a period of time the same error occurs. I am deleting the database rather than re-installing the Package Track portable program as it is a quicker method of solving the error however is still not ideal.

Is there any way of getting the Package Track program to delete the database and re-create it each time the program uploads data to the portables?

Many Thanks for your help.

No, unfortunately there is not. What type and model handheld are you working with?

Thanks!

Hi Brad,

I am using 5 Symbol PPT8800s which are using the same dock which itself is connected to a COM port. All of the PPT8800s are running Windows Mobile 2003.

Well if you have 5 handhelds hopefully you have another, spare dock that could be tested? You are receiving a rather unique error and I'd like to square away hardware if necessary.

Thanks.

Yes, we have 2 docks and this error appears when using both.

Hmm,

Have you considered trying Active Sync v4.2? I can provide you with a download link if you wished.

Thanks,

Yes, I have tried ActiveSync 4.2 although the Package Track conduit crashed when synchronizing the portables with the Package Track program.

Good,

All you need now is the conduit update. You may download it here:

ftp://ftp.intellitrack.net/public/CEBatch/ITASConduitUPD.exe

Thanks!
