Running PackageTrack Client on Wide Area Network
« on: January 08, 2008, 03:08:15 pm »
I have a prospect wanting to buy PackageTrack.  He's wondering if he can run the workstation clients connected to the SQL Server database via a wide area network.  His main concern is that Access front ends oftentimes download a lot of data from the host DB.  If that's the case, I'll recommend that he make the SQL Server local to his clients.  Otherwise, if the amount of data going from host to client is small, I'll tell him he can use the WAN.
What do you recommend?  Thanks.

Should I be posing this question to someone in sales?  I have a sale pending on the answer to this question.  Thanks.

PackageTrack is not an Access front end it is VisualBasic.

We would reccomend using it local and not over a WAN.
