RunTime version 7.0 not working
« on: August 24, 2005, 12:58:33 pm »
We have been working with RFSDK since 1999, starting with version 5.6 in one warehose, since 1999 we have been installing the same application in 5 more different sites, purchasing the runtime version with a hardware security key. Two weeks ago we purchased a new runtime, now version 7, but the terminals can't connect to the server. I have seen in the forum that the application must be recompiled to make it work in version 7 but all we want is to install a new site, and we don't need a new development version. Is there a way to upgrade the developer version to just recompile the application and make it work?
Thanks.

PD It's urgent, we have already install all RF infrastructure and we can't start operation.

I'm not sure if the upgrade of developer version  to 7.0 carries a charge but if you send your inquiry to sales@intellitrack.net they will be able to provide you your options.  You might try downloading the demo of RFSDK 7.0 and seeing if it will let you recompile the application so that it will run with your recent licenses. http://www.intellitrack.net/RFSDKdemo.asp

I tried your suggestion and the results are as follows:
Combination 1                                        Result
Original Application (compiled with SDK V5.6)        No Connection
and Runtime V7

Combination 2
Application compiled with SDK V7 Demo, RFSDK         No connection
Developer Installed

Combination 3
Original Application (compiled with SDK V5.6)        Connected for
and Runtime V7, after deinstalling RF SDK Developer  30 min
V7 Demo]

We have been using port 7000 in this application, in Combination 3 the application changes the port to 6000 (??).

We have contacted our supplier to get information about upgrades but we have no answer yet.

Any ideas?

Thanks
